The US, Canada, Fiji, New Zealand, Lebanon and Egypt joined other countries today by grounding the Boeing 737 MAX jet. Yesterday, the EASA grounded all Boeing 737 MAX operations in European Aerospace, the second largest aerospace ban after China. This move by many operators of the aircraft is causing a growing reputational crisis for Boeing. The company faces mounting commercial pressure as airlines seek to be compensated for the financial impact of the suspension. Apart from the commercial ramifications, this situation is also causing issues for travelers as airlines with limited capacity to swap out aircraft have resorted to canceling several flights. In Washington, DC, Congress is raising alarm and seeking answers from Boeing.
